We love the portability and performance of our 393rl. We bought two of them. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a go-anywhere solution for flat-water paddling. The ONLY reservation that I have is with the size of the carry bag. It needs to be about 25% larger. This is a constant source of irritation trying to put the kayak back into the bag. I have watched the company’s videos on repacking and have used the electric pump to suction out the excess air, but the bag is just too small. I give the kayak five stars but the bag issue knocks off one star for me. I love the concept of this beautiful boat! It is easily carried by myself and stored. I feel safer in it than my regular hard kayak because I sit inside but not under any parts of the Sea Eagle. I have had trouble adjusting to the Sea Eagle’s yaw. Foot pedals really helped me in paddling my other hard kayak. There is no such support in the Sea Eagle, so I purchased a hull flotation device from you. It provides some foot support for paddling. I really really really want this boat to work out for me. It’s a lot of fun and takes me to beautiful places on our lakes and rivers. Winter came before I had much time in the Sea Eagle with the flotation device for my feet. I believe this will work!! I love the SE 370! Me and my daughter go to the lake, on the inlets and ocean in Florida. We love to take it in the inlets and visit new islands. We fish a lot in it and if you are worrying about holes in the boat don’t. All my fault I put three holes in the side of it because I caught a huge Sea Catfish and had to bring it in the boat for pictures. We were out in the inlet, open water. We took pictures let fish go put everything away and made it back to shore with no problem! With three chambers it half way deflated one chamber and it paddled like it would if all three were up. The only addition or improvement you could, but can’t make, is to have the boat self inflate upon command. Seriously, It is easy enough to inflate as is. We bought the Paddle Ski because my wife wanted to kayak with me but wanted something that would be stable as she doesn’t consider herself a strong swimmer. She also has had back surgery and needed something with good back support. We wanted something that could travel with us that we didn’t have to load on top of our truck camper. It has been several years since I purchased my boat and it looks as good as new. It gets some pretty hard treatment in our house with 4 dogs who like to “kayak”. The largest of which is 150lbs. and the smallest of which is 45lbs. We get asked about the boat every time we go out. I cannot tell you have many times I have given out the website address. People are stunned at the amount of cargo (dogs) it can carry and then wonder where did that big kayak thing go when I roll it up and put it in my truck. People cannot believe that the dog nails and teeth don’t puncture the boat – not only don’t they puncture it, they don’t even scratch it. This is perfect way to kayak and not have to leave your furry friends at home, nor to get a hernia lifting a boat onto the roof of the car. I love that at the end of the season I can roll it away and drop it n a tote for next season or keep it in the car for adventures during the Summer. So much easier to get into and launch than a regular kayak. Very stable and quick.

My friends and I grabbed our kayaks for a fishing and hunting expedition and had a week going down the famous Atchafalaya River. Everyone told us that we were crazy for going down the Atchafalaya, especially me with my AE Straitedge Angler, because of the rapid water change and the fact that it was the season when all alligators were aggressive.

We had a nice start. We had all our equipment for fishing, along with our bows, my air pump just in case, and whatever stuff you need to survive. The number one thing of all was bug repellent. The days were beautiful with clear skies and cool air. Huge barges would pass us by, we’d see people’s beautiful hunting camps, we caught fish all during the day, and talked to people that literally lived off the river in houseboats with flat bottom boats for vehicles. Everyone we ran into literally had no hope for me because of my AE inflatable. When night came everything changed. The mosquitoes would come in a swarm sounding like a NASCAR race through the night. Even the strongest repellent we had was a joke, the air would turn hot and humid, the critters would make the loudest noises. We all brought hammocks and the mosquitoes would get to us easily. I’m so grateful I had my inflatable because the StraitEdge was not only a fishing kayak, it became my inflatable bed as well just by removing the seat.

As the days went by, we lived off the river and land around us. My buddies would once in a while flip in their kayaks and lose equipment but my StraitEdge Angler was such a comfortable and steady kayak that it felt almost impossible to flip which was especially reassuring while carrying expensive camera equipment. We hit shallow areas with stumps and sharp branches and I never once had a problem with a puncture, not even a mark on the kayak. We ran into alligators, even accidentally hooking some while fishing, but none seemed to care we were there. I still wouldn’t want to see if one attacked any of our boats.

We finally got to our pick up zone and I emptied my AE and simply deflated it. Everyone was impressed by how in great of shape my AE was in after all the rough usage. This is a great product for the price. It has many good featured ( easy to transport…tandem craft) The only problem is the seats…They don’t support you at all..they fold up under you and are uncomfortable. Over-all it is a great buy.
